Jennie’s struggle
Jennie reached out to us after hearing from a friend we had supported. She’d been sleeping on the floor of her sister’s bedroom for six months – a situation that put strain on everyone involved and even placed her brother-in-law’s tenancy at risk.
She had once lived in a home with her children, but following an eviction, she’d been unable to secure new accommodation. The instability forced her pregnant daughter to live separately, something that deeply affected Jennie.
The stress and exhaustion took a toll on her health, leading her to take time off from her job in the medical sector.
When Jennie came to APAP, we immediately began working with the council to secure a deposit for a new property. We arranged multiple viewings, supported her through each step and eventually helped her secure a home close to both her children and her work.
With a safe place to live, Jennie has regained her footing and even returned to part-time studies alongside her job.
