Winter Update
Posted:
And just like that, it’s January 2026! But before we get there it’s worth a reflection on the year that was 2025, its challenges and its achievements. Firstly, it’s important to highlight that APAP have again struggled to meet the increasing demand for our services from clients across Enfield and Haringey who are homeless or are at risk of being homeless. Sadly, this is a picture that continues to be reflective of the situation across London and nationally. As a small charity, meeting demand is is an ever-present challenge, but it felt particularly tough at points last year.
However, this year APAP has built and expanded our staff team to try and keep up with the need we are seeing. We have a team to be proud of, who work tirelessly to support our clients through and beyond homelessness.
Our 2025
Last year we were again able to deliver our night shelter provision on a year-round basis and secured funding to expand this into Haringey; meaning we can offer more beds throughout the year to some of the most vulnerable people across Enfield and Haringey. In addition to this, we saw 426 new clients through our day centre provision, and we achieved outcomes which directly resolved or prevented homelessness on 164 occasions.
Over the course of the year, through the day centre, we provided 1709 meals, 214 laundry services and 688 showers to homeless clients; providing access to these basic and primary services is the cornerstone of our work to engage and support clients and it would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers. We had nearly 4000 visits to the service over the year, reflective of the welcoming, warm and inclusive space we have created.

Winter Campaign
Lastly, we also delivered our 4th annual winter campaign ‘Help Before Homelessness’, which was our most successful yet and raised an amazing £26,487. A fantastic amount of money which will help keep our frontline provision running in the coming year. As with previous years we’re incredibly thankful to those that took the time to engage and donate to the campaign, but the most special thanks has to go, again, to the 20th & 23rd Southgate Scouts who braved the cold to fundraise for us through their annual sleepout and single handedly raised an incredible £13,878. As with previous years, we’re also incredibly thankful to Cogent, the agency who supported with the creative development behind this years campaign and were integral to its delivery.

Looking ahead to 2026
So, what for 2026? Well, we very much hope to secure our own sole-use site from which to continue to develop our day centre services in the coming months. In doing this we will create the space for APAP to develop specialist provision to meet the variety of needs presented by our clients whether they be single men, families or women facing homelessness. As always, we want to continue our partnership working with agencies across Enfield and Haringey in recognition that the long-term solution to individual homelessness is about much more than just a roof.
